Biography

A voice for Tigaon

Rajesh Nagar is the son of Roop Singh Nagar and has built his political career around the Tigaon Assembly constituency in Faridabad district, Haryana. He contested his first Assembly election in 2014 on a BJP ticket and lost to the Congress candidate, before winning the seat in the 2019 Haryana Legislative Assembly election.

In the 2024 Assembly election he was re-elected from Tigaon, defeating veteran leader and former MLA Lalit Nagar by a margin of 37,401 votes. Following the formation of the Nayab Singh Saini government, he was sworn in as Cabinet Minister (Independent Charge) for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs — one of the few ministers from the Gurjar community in the current Haryana cabinet.

He is widely regarded as close to former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and current Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and is known in his constituency for his focus on infrastructure, youth employment, healthcare access, and education.
